BCD

Switching from Desktop Commander? Keep working, drop the quota

BCD connects ChatGPT and Claude to your Mac. One Mac is free with no monthly tool-call quota. The Mac agent runs in the background and stays connected, each Mac has its own permissions, and there are tools for PDF, Word, Excel, video editing and iOS builds.

BCD runs on Mac only for now. Windows isn’t supported yet. Get notified when Windows is ready ›

Moving over in 3 steps

  1. Create a free BCD account.

  2. Paste this line into Terminal on your Mac, then click Approve in your browser: curl -fsSL https://bcd.snack-wrap.com | bash

  3. In ChatGPT or Claude, add https://bcd.snack-wrap.com/mcp as a connector (or put it in place of the Desktop Commander connector URL) and sign in to BCD when asked. Then ask the same way you did before, in plain words.

Desktop Commander’s local MCP server is free and open source. You can keep it installed if you like; it doesn’t conflict with BCD.

What BCD adds

PDF, Word and Excel: read, write and edit documents and spreadsheets.

Video editing on your Mac with AVFoundation; no ffmpeg needed.

iOS apps: build, run tests and upload to TestFlight.

Your Chrome: list tabs, read a page and click or type in it.

Undo: see the file changes the AI made and roll one back.

Saved workflows: save a series of steps and run it again later.

Dropped chats: long jobs keep running, and the outcome of a lost call can be checked.

Several Macs can share one account, with one set as the default, and teams can share access.

Questions

Can I use both?
Yes. They don’t conflict. You can keep Desktop Commander’s local server on your computer and use BCD as your remote connector.

Does BCD work on Windows?
Not yet. BCD runs on Mac only for now. Leave your email on the home page and we’ll tell you when the Windows version is ready.

Do my files get uploaded?
BCD doesn’t copy your folders anywhere. When the AI reads a file, that content passes through BCD’s relay in memory to reach your AI app, and BCD doesn’t store it. Your AI app handles it under its own policy.

Is BCD free?
One Mac is free with no monthly tool-call quota. Personal is $7.99 a month for up to 3 Macs, and Plus ($9.99), Pro ($13.99) and Team ($29) are also available. New accounts get Personal free for a month, no card needed. Your AI app’s subscription is separate.
