Ask ChatGPT or Claude to sort your Downloads or Desktop into folders, or to rename a batch of photos. BCD does the moving on your Mac, after showing you the plan.

How it works
Create a free account and install BCD on your Mac by pasting one command into Terminal.
Click Approve in your browser to connect that Mac to your account.
Add BCD to ChatGPT or Claude as a connector, then ask in plain words.
Try asking
Look at my Downloads folder and sort the files into subfolders by type (documents, images, installers, archives). Show me the plan before moving anything.
Clean up my Desktop: put screenshots in Desktop/Screenshots and everything else in a folder named after this month. List what you will move first.
Rename the photos in ~/Pictures/Trip to YYYY-MM-DD_place.jpg using the date they were taken. Show me ten examples first.
Find installers (.dmg and .pkg) in Downloads that are more than a month old and list them with their sizes. Don’t delete anything.
What BCD does on your Mac
Looks first
Lists the folder and checks file sizes and dates, so the AI can propose a plan before anything moves.
Creates folders and moves files
Makes the folders it needs and moves or renames many files in one step. A move never overwrites a file that is already there.
Deletes only when you ask
Deleting is a separate step the AI uses only when you ask for it.
Safe by default
New computers start read-only: the AI can look but can’t change anything. Writing files and running commands only work after you turn them on for that Mac in your dashboard. There are no open ports: the Mac connects out to BCD.
Looking at folders works read-only. Moving and renaming need write permission on that Mac.
Questions
Will it move files without asking?
Not unless write permission is on for that Mac. The prompts above ask for a plan first, so you can say yes or change it before anything moves.
Do my files get uploaded?
BCD doesn’t copy your folders anywhere. When the AI reads a file, that content passes through BCD’s relay in memory to reach your AI app, and BCD doesn’t store it. Your AI app handles it under its own policy.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. One Mac is free. New accounts can also try Personal, for up to 3 Macs, free for a month, with no card needed.
